Intergrated reporting
King III calls for all companies to produce an Integrated Report. Companies
will have to comply from the 2010/2011 financial year. Integrated reporting
is a holistic approach to enable investors and other stakeholders to understand
how an organisation is really performing. Addressing the wider as well as longer-term
consequences of decisions and actions, an integrated report makes clear the link
between economic, social and environmental value. The relationship between an organisation's
strategy, governance and sustainable business model should be transparent through
such reporting. It also gives an analysis of the impacts and interconnections of
material opportunities, risks and performance across the value chain.
iSiS sustainability can assist your company in compiling an integrated report
using the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) framework for sustainability reporting.
This framework provides guidance for reporting on corporate governance structures,
management approaches, and environmental, social, and economic performance indicators;
all within the context of sustainability.
Carbon management
You can’t manage what you don’t measure. King III suggests that an organisations
risk assessment should pay due significance to Green House Gas emissions. Carbon
management is about understanding how and where an organisation’s activities generate
greenhouse gas emissions, and to then minimise these emissions in an ongoing and
financially sustainable way. It extends from internal activities to the consumption
of an organisation’s products or services and, ultimately, is about incorporating
an understanding of carbon data into strategic business decision making.
Carbon management is a new concept for many organisations. The greatest challenge
is knowing where to start. The solution is the iSiS Corporate Carbon Management System
(ICCMS). A user friendly model for achieving bottom line benefits in a carbon
constrained economy.
iSiS Corporate Carbon Management System (ICCMS)
Our secure web based software solution, based on the internationally recognised
Green House Gas Corporate Protocol, reduces the complexity of reporting green house
gasses by allowing for a consistent consolidation approach within your organisation,
from SME”s to large or complex holding companies. This ensures that all scopes and
activities are correctly reported, including leased assets, to prevent double counting.
Emission factors are updated regularly, ensuring relevance and accuracy. Carbon
emissions can be tracked and reported on, allowing your organisation to manage and
mitigate its ghg’s effectively.
